Engaging more than one entity? Please complete a separate form for each. The Tax Practitioners Board recommends separate engagement letters where services are provided to related parties.
About signing electronically. Typing your name and confirming acceptance on this form is intended to operate as your electronic signature. Under Australian electronic transactions law, an electronic signature is generally effective where the method identifies you, indicates your intention to be bound, and is appropriately reliable in the circumstances. By submitting the form you consent to communicating with us electronically and to receiving your copy of this engagement by email.
Common questions
Do I get a copy of what I sign?
Yes. A copy of your completed engagement letter is emailed to the address you provide, usually within a few minutes of submitting. A copy is also sent to our office and stored securely in our client records.
Which form should I complete?
If you are engaging us as an individual or as a sole trader under your own ABN, use the Individual & Sole Trader form. If the client is a company, trust or partnership, use the Business form. Where both apply — for example a company and its director personally — please complete one of each.
What happens after I submit?
We review your submission, complete our client verification requirements, and contact you to confirm the scope of work and next steps. If anything needs clarifying before we begin, we will raise it with you first.
Does submitting this form mean you have accepted the engagement?
Not automatically. Submitting the form records your acceptance of the terms. The engagement begins once we have confirmed acceptance in writing and completed our verification requirements.
Do I need to complete a new form each year?
For ongoing engagements we review arrangements with clients regularly, and a new engagement letter may be needed where your circumstances change, the scope of work changes, or relevant laws change. We will let you know when a refreshed engagement is required.
What if I need to change the scope later?
Just get in touch. Depending on the change, we may confirm it in writing as an addition to the existing engagement, or ask you to complete a new engagement form.
How is my information handled?
Information you provide is used to establish and administer your engagement. Please do not enter tax file numbers or upload identity documents through this form — we will arrange a secure method for any sensitive documents we need. See our Privacy Policy for details.
General information only. This page and the forms describe our engagement process. It is not personal tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. If you have questions about the terms before accepting them, please contact us and we will talk them through with you.
Happy to walk you through it.
If you would rather discuss the scope and terms before completing the form, give us a call or send an email.
